Don’t worry there is an easy way to pinpoint if you might have a problem:
- Does your CEO get doe-eyed when they see an iPad?
- Do your fellow colleagues carry around iPads like they are small children?
- Does “Let’s make an app!” come up in almost every brainstorm?
- Does your company think the iPad will solve all of your marketing needs?
If you answered yes to any of these questions you might have iPad fever.
What I’m really saying is this: iPad fever is just the newest strain of digital fever. Digital fever started in the late 90′s and spread like a disease, constantly changing its strain to infect new companies and people. I can see that pharma has caught the latest strain, iPad fever, just by taking a quick walk around the convention floor at Digital Pharma East.
Almost ever vendor is giving one away as a marketing gimick–I counted at least 12 iPad app/information portal creators and everyone is branding their iPads like they are a red badge of courage. And I’m not going to lie, I have the fever too. I personally don’t use an iPad but I love seeing people use it and coming up with creative ways to get people to explore brands with them.
Do you or your firm have the fever? What will the next strain of the fever look like? Please feel free to leave me your prediction in the comments.
