Mentoring: Good, Great and Best Parts

A few weeks ago I gave a lecture at American University during a Public Relations Student Society of America conference talking to students about the ethics of Digital Media. My lecture was about digital listening and explored the concept of a public speaker, and while the group was small, I think it was an insightful discussion, and not just for the students.

As an AU alum myself, I’ve found it rewarding to mentor seniors majoring in public communication at AU. The mentor program serves as way for students to chat about career goals and aspirations with a professional working in the field they want to work in. But the program also offers ‘seasoned’ professionals an opportunity to learn as well.
