In addition to providing professional services to the American Diabetes Association, Spectrum passionately supports ADA's search for the cure of a disease that currently affects nearly 21 million Americans. We're committed to helping ADA not only achieve communications goals among patients and physicians, but also raise money for clinical diabetes research.

America's Walk for Diabetes^® - Washington, DC
For the last five years, Spectrum has fielded fundraising teams for the ADA's America's Walk for Diabetes in Washington, D.C. Rain or shine, dozens of Spectrum professionals and colleagues have participated in the Walk through the nation's capital, and helped raise thousands of dollars to support diabetes research, community programs and awareness campaigns.

ADA has recognized Spectrum as the #1 Corporate Fund-raising group for the 2006 America's Walk for Diabetes. Spectrum succeeded in raising $18,331 for diabetes by holding happy hours, seeking out free advertising and reaching out to all our contacts. We also had a great turnout of Spectrum staff, their friends, families and dogs at the Walk.

Tour de Cure^®
Spectrum employees and friends have also for the last three years braved the 32-mile trek of the Tour de Cure, one of ADA's signature fund-raising events. With support from fellow employees, family members and friends, the Spectrum team, affectionately known as the "SPOKES PERSONS," rode and raised money to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from diabetes.

Address to the Business Community
In February 2006, Lynn Nicholas, CEO, American Diabetes Association and John Seng, President, Spectrum Science Communications, challenged Washington, D.C. area CEOs and other corporate executives to help combat the growing trend of diabetes taking a toll on today's workforce in our home city. The event, attended by more than 80 professionals, provided area businesses with easy and effective tools to promote healthier lifestyles among their employees.
