Spectrum Poised for Growth with New People, New Relationships and New Space

Now in 15th Year, Builds on Momentum from 2011

WASHINGTON  (January 31, 2012) — Spectrum, a leading communications counseling firm specializing in health and science, begins its 15th anniversary year with several key milestones under its belt. In 2011, through its focus on communicating complex scientific concepts and critical public health efforts, the agency’s team of seasoned practitioners earned significant client wins, industry recognition, memberships on esteemed professional boards and the recruitment of top talent.

“From the innovative science behind consumer health products to the medical devices that improve the way people live, Spectrum’s goal is consistent,” said the agency’s founder and CEO, John Seng. “Everything we do is designed to develop and tell our clients’ stories of progress, hope and innovation.”
Spectrum’s begins the new year with the addition of senior staff. In January, the team welcomed Juliet Glassroth as senior vice president to spearhead new business, sales and marketing efforts. An award-winning public relations and communications professional with over 17 years of experience, Glassroth brings a diverse background to the agency, as well as a wealth of experience from both the agency and client side.

“Spectrum is a decidedly unique agency,” said Glassroth. “It’s clear that the people here not only truly enjoy working with our clients but with one another. That chemistry is evident both in the quality of the team’s work and in the experience clients have in working with us.”
In other news, Spectrum team members will lend their subject matter expertise in several venues in the coming year:

  • Spectrum Vice President Pamela Lippincott has been elected to a three-year term on the Health Academy Executive Committee for the Public Relations Society of America Health Academy Conference, which takes place in May. Lippincott will play a role in communicating the value of PRSA activities for executives in health communications.
  • Anthony LaFauce, Spectrum’s director of digital strategy, will lead a breakout session titled “Media Integration: Reach Your Audiences on a Nonprofit Budget” at PRSSA’s Health Academy Conference.
  • After being awarded as a General Services Administration (GSA) schedule holder in the latter part of 2011, Spectrum is now well positioned to expand its offerings to government agencies and contractors in the coming year.

In the last year, the agency has also received awards for its innovative programs, such as the work it does on behalf of The Progeria Research Foundation. Since 2003, Spectrum has worked on the organization’s Find the Other 150” campaign, a global initiative to identify undiagnosed children afflicted with a rare, fatal, rapid-aging disease called Progeria. The agency’s efforts recently resulted in several awards including: 2011 Genetic Alliance Art of Reporting Award, 2011 Platinum PR Award, 2011 Marcom Platinum Award and a Telly award.

“2012 is going to be a milestone year for Spectrum, “said Seng. “Not only are we celebrating our 15th anniversary, but we are planning a move to new, smarter space, and continuing to do important work for our clients. We are excited for another year of sharing stories that get people excited about the possibilities of science and the promise of new treatments.”
