Assistant Account Executive

We are looking for an Assistant Account Executive with an interest in the complex science behind our clients’ products and issues, who has the ability to conduct comprehensive background research on behalf of clients and new business efforts. This candidate will be comfortable working within a wide range of scientific communications disciplines, such as biotech, pharma and/or consumer science, to help support the account team leads to ensure client goals are met through patient education and media relations.

The Assistant Account Executive will be a key player in assisting in research and writing of media materials (backgrounders and press releases), coordination, assembly and distribution of media materials, and developing relationships with reporters covering clients’ issues. The Assistant Account Executive will work collaboratively and creatively with the account team to develop results-driven solutions for clients.

Key areas of responsibility for the Assistant Account Executive include engaging in occasional client contact on specific activities, and participating in client meetings and developing reports on outcomes as needed. The Assistant Account Executive will also monitor traditional and online media on behalf of clients and other agency interests, assist in managing logistics for meetings and special events, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of digital media. Other duties include developing and updating media contact lists, tracking and developing media outreach and event result reports, and researching and developing of lists of organizations for community/professional outreach.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualified candidates will have the ability to effectively work on multiple accounts concurrently. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a professional public relation setting or agency experience. Spectrum is a fast paced work environment and the successful candidate will be able to meet tight deadlines and have solid oral and written communication skills.
